Resources & Learning Center - Charitable Interests

Our mission is to advance children's literacy, health and social welfare locally and around the world. We commit to the communities where we live and work through financial contributions and our volunteer efforts.

Frank Danielson

The F. Danielson Foundation supports the following charitable organizations

Room To Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education.  Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, they develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.

Kidsafe Project Society Kidsafe’s mission is to provide nurturing safe havens for at-risk inner-city elementary school students when schools are traditionally closed. School is where children learn, play, eat, make friends, discover role models, develop life-long skills and find help in a crisis. KidSafe keeps schools open after school and during winter, spring and summer breaks for nearly 400 of Vancouver’s inner-city elementary students. KidSafe keeps them safe, and provides healthy meals, learning and recreation activities free of charge, in a caring, fun environment that’s geared to make these vulnerable children shine.

KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports.  KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

Raise a Reader is an award winning National literacy campaign to help create awareness and raise money to support literacy in communities across Canada. Since 2002 the program has raised $7.45 million to help establish and support local literacy campaigns. One hundred percent of all money raised goes directly to local and national beneficiaries of Raise a Reader. Encouraging others to improve their reading skills is an investment in our community and our future. Assante Wealth Management has been a proud sponsor of the CanWest Raise-a-Reader program since 2004, and has gifted a quarter of a million dollars a year to the cause.
